The Jolly Roger Bar & Grill in Sosúa is my favourite midday or evening stop-in. Located in the heart of Sosúa, it is owned and operated by Canadians. This bar and grill is English and Spanish speaking where it is frequented by many Canadian and American ex-pats. This establishment has a very Maritime feel to it as well. The Jolly Roger Bar & Grill is very well known for it's food specials, social events, karaoke and weekly bingo.
The menu is like any menu one would find in a local Canadian bar and grill or pub. I have had their wings, fish fingers, Chinese plate on special, buffalo chicken wrap and most of their locally sourced craft beers. Every meal or drink I have had was fresh, tasty and served with a friendly smile.
When travelling in Sosúa I highly recommend visiting the Jolly Roger Bar & Grill. You will not be disappointed!

"ONLY PUB IN SOSUA WITH CRAFT BEER ON TAP"
When in Sosua visiting the Jolly Roger Bar & Grill should be a must on your list. Right in the middle of Sosua, this little Canadian frequented gem has the feel of a Halifax Maritime pub. Locally owned by a Canadian, Kelly and staff mad me feel at home from the first time I sat down at the bar to my final beer before my departure back to Canada.
The Jolly Roger Bar & Grill has an excellent menu for all tastes with all the loved Canadian pub favourites and more. They have a few locally brewed craft beers that reminded me of some of my Halifax, Nova Scotia favourites. Being a very friendly favourite hangout for both Canadians and Americans alike, they have interesting events, good beer and a wonderful menu with quality and safety you can trust.
When in Sosua I highly recommend the Jolly Roger Bar & Grill. You will be happy you did!

We played darts there and the food and service was very good. Had lots of fun. You should check out the Jolly Rogers when you are in Sosua. Draft in chilled mugs, drinks are good too.

We have been the Jolly Roger on several walks.. the atmosphere is great, the owners are great people and the staff are always friendly. Food is excellent and the beer is cold. They have darts , bingo and karaoke all on different days.. lots of tourists frequent this spot.

Owners are nice people and nice to meet. Beer was cold food was good and pricing was very fair. Meatball sub was very yummy. Stopped and had a few pints and food and it was bingo day which they have different theme days or just watch the activity outdoors and enjoy a cold one.

UNIQUE AND WELCOMING GATHERING SPOT
One of the gems of Sosua, without a doubt. A fantastic place to meet people, make friends, and a drop-in for a bite to eat can easily turn into an afternoon of laughs and great memories. We stayed at a nearby all-inclusive with 3 other couples from Canada and ended up here for food and socializing... a few times. LOL It was only a few minutes walk and on the way to Sosua beach.
They have all kinds of branded merchandise - VERY well done, great prices. You'll want to get a t-shirt as a souvenir (and I recommend a beer jacket to keep your drink frosty when you're sitting back home missing the DR... lol).
The owners are Canadian - friendly, friendly people (just like most of the folks who you'll meet while you're there). Definitely a spot worth setting time aside for a visit or two when in town. Certainly a highlight in our trip and we'll be back!

"SWASHBUCKLING IN SOSUA"
This was the perfect spot to have a drink and a burger during our jaunt along the north shore of DR. Laid back, pirate themed, friendly atmosphere. We visited on a Tuesday which happens to be bingo day so, of course, we got in on the fun. When I won the first game there was some good natured boos from the regulars. Had a long, meandering conversation with the owner - which was a perfect way to spend an afternoon (in my humble opinion). Drinks were solid, food was standard bar fare (but good). Service was friendly and helpful. Definitely make plans to duck in and spend an hour or two.

Been there at least once each visit but spent more time this trip and met the owners. Great spot to have a few beers and a good, inexpensive meal. Many different events throughout the week and just a super fun atmosphere. The owners are FANTASTIC and the staff is friendly and fun. YOU MUST visit while in Sosua!

Full of fun people, just out to have a good time. The food was better than expected. My crispy chicken sandwich was just okay, but the Chicken curry was awesome.
We played bingo one afternoon and went back for karaoke night, which was fun too!

Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name. Live entertainment every Saturday and the owners created many events throughout the year to raise money for local charities. Kelly makes a swell Caesar ?

Great little spot. Food is good and booze is reasonable. Jug of beer comes with a centre frozen jobby that keeps the beer really cold and to top it off they give you very chilled glasses.....great for those warm days they get. Been there before in the night and its quite an experience as Sosua really hops at night...(ya gotta see it to know). Anyway fun spot I'd go again anytime!

The Jolly is a lot of fun. There are so many things going on every day. Bingo, Trivia, Euchre, love music etc...
The food is good, nothing to scream about but tasty. The Thai soup is fabulous, Chicken or Shrimp! The Chinese Monday’s have good choices but more expensive than the local Chinese. You’ve got to go to the Jolly!!!

"INCREDIBLY FRIENDLY OWNER, GREAT SPOT TO HANG OUT"
We visited the Jolly Roger twice during the three days we were going through scuba training with a dive shop just down the street. The food was not only tasty but very reasonably priced. On our second visit we had our 11-year-old daughter with us. The place was packed--Charity Bingo was in session--so we grabbed a seat at the bar, where the owner was working. He chatted all three of us up. He was tremendously friendly; we thoroughly enjoyed his company! Don't hesitate to stop in here while in Sosua.

I stopped in here a few times over the last week and the only thing I regret is that I leave on Canada Day when there's a lot going on. I really enjoyed the decor of the place and it's really just a cool place to go to that's a little bit away from the noise down the street. You'll have a great time at Jolly Roger.
